Health & Safety Policy
Strict Health & Safety Guidelines
Commitment to Health & Safety
At the heart of our operations is a steadfast commitment to preventing accidents, minimizing work-related illnesses, and ensuring a secure, healthy environment for all employees. We believe that maintaining high health and safety standards is not just a requirement but a responsibility to our team, clients, and stakeholders. Our approach includes providing thorough training, engaging with employees on health and safety matters, and implementing effective control measures to mitigate risks arising from daily activities.
Ensuring Health & Safety at Work
Our organization takes proactive steps to ensure that all workplace environments meet rigorous health and safety standards:
- Risk Assessments: Comprehensive evaluations of potential health and safety risks are conducted regularly. These assessments guide the implementation of measures to reduce the likelihood of injuries or illnesses, ensuring a safer workspace.
- Workplace Well-being: To support the health of our employees, we ensure access to clean drinking water, fully functional sanitation facilities, and adequate lighting and ventilation in all workplaces. Employees are provided with personal protective equipment (PPE) at no cost if risks cannot be adequately controlled by other means.
- Training & Competency: We equip our employees with the necessary training to perform their duties safely, ensuring they are competent to handle workplace challenges. This training also addresses how to manage aggression, violence, and emergency situations.
- Engagement & Communication: We maintain an open line of communication with employees regarding health and safety matters, encouraging them to report risks and provide feedback on improvements.
Protecting the Health & Safety of Security Staff
Security personnel often face unique risks, including threats, abuse, and even physical assault. We are committed to protecting our security team by implementing measures tailored to their needs:
- Access to Welfare Facilities: Our security staff have access to essential amenities such as clean toilets, washing facilities, and drinking water. Where a dedicated office is unavailable, a comfortable rest area is provided to ensure their well-being during shifts.
- Rest & Recovery Areas: For sites requiring prolonged standing, we provide comfortable seating arrangements to prevent potential health issues.
- Incident Reporting: Security staff are encouraged to report incidents or accidents immediately to our 24-hour control room. Emergency contacts, including the number 999, are readily available to ensure swift responses to emergencies.
- Client Responsibilities: In cases of disrupted water, electricity, or gas supplies at client sites, our contracts outline clear provisions for standby facilities to maintain safety standards.
Comprehensive Health & Safety Training
We believe that knowledge is key to safety. All security staff undergo rigorous training on a wide range of health and safety topics to ensure they are fully prepared for any situation:
- Managing Aggression: Employees are trained to handle and report incidents of violence, vandalism, unauthorized access, and malicious damage effectively.
- Emergency & Fire Preparedness: Training includes fire safety protocols, such as how to respond to alarms, evacuation routes, muster points, and the proper use of emergency equipment like fire extinguishers, hoses, and sandbags.
- First Aid Training: Security personnel are trained in basic first aid to provide immediate assistance during emergencies. They are made aware of the locations of first aid kits on site, and supervisors ensure these kits are replenished monthly.
Site-Specific Safety Measures
To ensure site-specific safety, we take additional measures, such as:
- Perimeter Security: Preventing vandalism and unauthorized access by ensuring gates are secure, perimeter fences are intact, and sensitive equipment is safely stored outside operational hours.
- Emergency Contingency Plans: For high-risk sites, we develop tailored emergency plans, including fire drills and evacuation procedures.
- Employee Welfare: On sites where employees cannot leave during their shifts, we provide facilities for preparing hot drinks and warming food to ensure comfort during long hours.
